Who Can Participate
All students are welcome to attend IMSD functions and workshops. In addition, scholarships providing a stipend and travel funding are available for US citizens and permanent residents who are underrepresented in the sciences. This includes all students with disabilities, economically disadvantaged students and first generation college students.
For the undergraduate programs, all prospective science and mathematics majors are eligible (since students are not required to declaremajors until the end of the sophomore year). Freshmen will generally enter the IMSD program as part of the pre-IMSD cohort. A subset of pre-IMSD students will be awarded two years of support once they have committed to a research laboratory, usually as rising sophomores.
